Town Hall Adjudicator 2026

Michelle Ryan

Michelle was born and raised in the Clarence Valley on the Far North Coast of NSW. She was a featured artist in the Sydney Schools Spectacular and sang as a soloist for the Sydney Youth Olympics Opening Ceremony in 2009.  Michelle moved to Sydney to study a Bachelor of Music Performance in Voice and a Graduate Diploma of Opera Studies at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music. 

In 2019 the competition scene saw Michelle as a Finalist in the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship and the Joan Sutherland & Richard Bonynge Foundation Bel Canto Award where she won the DECCA award and the Tait Memorial Trust Award, enabling her to perform in London.

 

Michelle recently sang full time with the South West Radio Choir (SWR Vokalensemble) in Stuttgart for the 2022/2023 season which included performances in La Scala in Milan and the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam. She was previously the recipient of the German-Australian Opera Grant with the State Theatre of Hessen in Wiesbaden 2020/2021 and 2021/2022. Many roles were performed during this time, including Gretel from Hansel and Gretel and Zerlina from Don Giovanni. 

 

Michelle sings regularly and performed with Bachakademie Australia and The Song Company earlier this year. Now Brisbane based, Michelle has her own voice studio and performs with One Equal Music and Brisbane Lyric Opera. She will also be performing with Van Diemen’s Band in Sydney later this year as well as singing with Cantillation for Pinchgut Opera and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

Dance Adjudicator 2026

Kate Beattie

Since graduating from Brent Street with a Certificate IV in Performing Arts, Kate has established herself as a respected dancer, performer, and teacher within the Australian entertainment industry.

Kate has performed alongside internationally renowned recording artists including Jessie J and Ricky Martin. Her television credits include appearances on The Voice Australia, The X Factor Australia, Australia's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance Australia, and Dance Academy.

On stage, Kate has performed at prestigious events and productions including the AACTA Awards, Hair Expo, Australian Fashion Week, The Full Monty, and as a resident dancer at PACHA Sydney at Ivy.

Kate has also performed internationally aboard Royal Caribbean International cruise ships, with Sydney Showboat, and in Jack and the Beanstalk produced by Bonnie Lythgoe.

In addition to her performance career, Kate was the coordinator of the PTP after-school program at Brent Street, where she mentored and supported emerging young performers.

Kate continues to teach and choreograph regularly throughout Sydney, inspiring the next generation through movement, performance, and training.
